Stephenson's Rocket - Historic Steam Train. Scale 1:24

OC-54000 - OcCre

Immerse yourself in the world of railway modelling and enjoy a journey back to the age of these of these marvellous steam locomotives with our model kits.

In 1829 the Liverpool and Manchester Railway held the Rainhill Trials to find the best locomotive for their line.

The winner, from a field of five entries, was Robert Stephenson and his Rocket. This locomotive, which only weighed 4.2 tons, had a multi-tubular boiler, almost 6 ft long with a diameter of 3 ft 4 in, that was of great efficiency in terms of heat transfer. The pistons, in the cylinders, which were set at an inclined position, were coupled up to 4 ft 8 in diameter drive wheels, and she was capable of reaching speeds of up to 25 mph.

Because of her characteristics, the Rocket was the first useful and practical locomotive in terms of transporting passengers and goods, launching a new age in the history of transport.

You will find out, step by step, how to put together a model with all of the details of the original locomotive.

Ideal for beginners in the world of railway modelling.

The completed model is faithful to the locomotive and this miniature replica measures 290mm in length, is 65mm wide and 180mm tall. The kit provides full colour instructions with photographs. Timber, white metal and brass parts are included.

This model requires glue and painting to complete, neither are included.
