Fokker Dr I, The Red Baron's Triplane, Scale 1:16

ART-20350 - Artesania Latina

The best aircraft replica of the Fokker Dr. I, the mythical plane of the Red Baron! It was a German fighter triplane from the World War I. This deluxe wooden and metal model at 1:16 scale is faithful to the original, even with the same materials. For advanced and expert modellers.

History of Fokker Dr. I Triplane: The Red Baron

The Fokker Dr. I was a German fighter plane from the first World War. It was made famous by the end of 1917, both the plane but also its even more famous pilot, the legendary German pilot Manfred von Richthofen, The Red Baron.

The Fokker Dr. I is an airplane that conquered numerous victories for the German side. In that same year, most of the major aviation factories attempted to create their own triple-deck fighters. It was a Dutchman, Anthony Fokker, who finally created the triplane that would become the nightmare of the Allies.

The allies most accomplished rival was the British biplane the Sopwith Camel, which was regularly out manoeuvred by the Fokker and The Red Baron.

The Model

This incredible modelling kit will delight modellers with its use of authentic materials and the high level of detail. A large scale of 1:16 captures the minute detail extremely well but despite this scale, the model and the real plane are quite compact.

The model is a faithful replica of the original, even using the same materials: metal for the frame and wood for the wings. Included with the kit is a DVD that captures the history of this museum piece as well as instructions on assembly and finishing.

This kit is recommended for advanced modellers, and suits modellers 14 years and older. The completed kit will measure 360mm long, 185mm tall with a wingspan of 450mm.

Model Features:

  • Laser cut wooden parts
  • Metal structures
  • Highly detailed metal parts like guns and motor parts
  • Photo etched parts
