The Honda Civic began its rivalry with other 1600cc cars in the Japanese Touring Car Championship - Group A class with many fierce battles from 1988. The car featured the ZC engine and also featured a wider track and wheelbase to enhance stability over rival manufacturers cars. With excellent handling and superior horsepower won this championship for 2 successive years.
The Civic EF9 wasn't the first Honda to use VTEC, but was the most successful of all the smaller powerplants from Honda and the B16A engine with valve timing optimised for both low and high rpm operations was unbeatable.
The 1991 Honda Civic EF9 was able to win the Group A JTCC Championship for 4 successive years.
There are two black sprue trees, one white for the body parts including the body shell, two clear sprues and one chrome one. There are 4 rubber tyres and mesh for the grille as well as highly detailed waterslide decal sheet featuring the race livery from the 1991 Idemitsu.
