Academy - Messerschmitt Bf109G-14, German Fighter, 1:48 Scale
The Bf109 Messerschmitt was used by the Luftwaffe during World War II as an escort for German bombers during the Battle of Britain but it was found that because of its limited range was not well suited to this role. As the war progressed the G version was developed to improve performance. Being both light (6,900 lbs) and powerful (1,475 hp 12 cylinder engine) it became a lethal flying machine. The main armament was a pair of 13mm machine guns mounted under the main cowling and synchronised to fire through the three bladed propeller. There was also a 20mm MG151 or 30mm Mk108 firing through the propeller spinner.
The kit features fully engraved panel lines, rivet details, a highly detailed cockpit interior with the canopy being able to fixed into optional positions as is the landing gear - up or down.
Glue and paint are required but are not included.
